I don't find the serial bootloader works 100% of the time, but I presume this is something to do with the hardware design of the cheap board I'm using. Some people have a lot of issues with the bootloaders, some have very few problems.Į.g as far as I'm aware has not managed to get the serial bootloader to work, and he is experienced in uploading to Pro Mini boards etc. i think its better for you guys to concentrate on ide, library, and compiler issues which are presently beyond my level of competence.Īs far as I can tell. However not a high priority because all those issues are solved on my end and posted early in this thread for those interested. Maybe the native bootloader is simplest and best, then no Flash or RAM is wasted. i think some people simply love pushing button. already been put up here at least 3-4 times so its getting easier for me. if you still cant locate my posts ill dig them out again. also the eevblog links i posted went into great detail. at least the first few page which dont take long at all. I strongly recommend reviewing this thread from the start. Is there a way to do it without push buttons? I thought that the native serial bootloader still needed to push buttons to enter the bootloader. imo the only actual solution is to make believe there is no maple bootloader. many of the problems along with partial fixes are discussed. I would need more detail than "doesn't work" though in fact it is the fallback for all those in this threrad and the maple site who failed with the faulty maple add-on. the stm bootloader is built in and can never be erased or disabled and works 100% of the time. Of course, people buying maple compatibles will already have the stock maple bootloader, to load a new bootloader would need serial download also "most of the time" is just not good enough for my personal use. for me who gets called around every time theres a problem it makes life a living hell. or maybe like the others you consider 90% acceptable. we are stuck with default (earth human) windows. If its that first comment then maybe you have different os. I recognise the Maple bootloader does have issues It was necessary for us to contact the seller who promptly sent an iso with updated versions and in english. note that the discs that comes with it are out of date and in chinese. however the real bonus is the software support package. Regarding that tft/arm board the display and high end stmf103 and peripherals like the rtc and sd socket are a bargain. anyway two full classes of students are successfully using the older set of files so thanks again to roger for this great effort. not sure though because for some reason they no longer work here with original examples. I'm not sure if the latest github files are updated to take advantage but probably not. platforms.txt has also been updated to use the batch file I posted early in this thread using the mfgs bootloader so there is no need to push buttons on every download. those entries in the boards.txt have been deleted to minimize the hassle. last report not reliable for any of the participants in this thread either. it only worked at all for about a third of the test users on my end. As mentioned before ive virtually no interest in the maple bootloader.
